which wolf are you feedingWhich wolf are you feeding?

The other day, I got my hands on this incredible movie called ‘Tomorrowland‘, by Disney. Have you heard of it?

Every time I watch it, it brings tears to my eyes and hope to my heart.

This movie is about hope, dreams, and possibilities.

As I write today’s blog I often wonder what has caused us to give up on our hopes and dreams. It seems that when I was a child anything was possible.

Life was without limits. You could look up at the sky and be amazed. We dreamed of new frontiers and changes to make the world a better place. We had hope and dreams.

Today I fear we have lost this. We have decided that to create ideas is too much work. It is just easier to accept things as they are and complain about them.

I fear we have lost faith in humanity and what is possible around us.

I got pretty emotional in this video, so bare with me.

Which Wolf Are You Feeding

“There are two wolves that are always fighting inside you.

One is darkness and despair.  The other is light and hope. Which one wins?”

The one you feed.

This is a direct quote from Tomorrowland, which took it from a Cherokee Legend.

So I ask you, which wolf are you feeding in your life?

The one you feed the most is the one that wins. So do you stay in darkness or do you step into the light?

Feeding the Right Wolf

To be realistic it isn’t always easy to believe in hope. It requires effort.

Another line I love from this movie is:

“It’s hard to have ideas and it’s easy to give up.”

This one hit home pretty hard with me. I am by no means perfect and I make plenty of mistakes, but I do believe in the good of people. I choose to believe in possibilities even when others give up. I do believe in what can be achieved. While the road may be filled with bumps, pit falls, up hill battles, and warnings… The journey is what inspires me. It is what give me hope.

So I choose to feed the wolf that is light and hope. I choose to believe that anything is possible if you believe and take action.

Dreams are great but if you do nothing with them, then you are not living up to your full potential. Yes, it’s scary. But if you knew that in 5 years you would be in a place where you never had to worry bout money, family, or the legacy you want to leave behind. Is the journey worth it? Is it worth feeding the right wolf?

Only you can decided. But know this, I believe in you and your potential to be anything you want to be. Start dreaming again. It will take some effort but trust me when I say that it will change your life.

If this post resonated with you, please share. If you have seen Tomorrowland, share your thoughts on the movie by commenting below.

I remember hearing about this story when I was little. It is EXACTLY why I try to twist any situation around into a positive for me. I will have to write it down so I do not get consumed with negativity. Thanks for sharing!

Chef Katrina! I love this idea of looking up when I go outside.

In Oakland, CA I know this a lot as the sky around me is so open, much like Montana or Wyoming. Really! I remember reading once the importance of looking at a view far away from you any time you need perspective.

I’m so glad to be on a journey with people like you around the world….An economy that cares about people.

Waking up and saying – what kind of difference can I make today….is fabulous. Just like dozing off in your sleep seeing the same changes you are here to make! Thank you for providing a way to see the Wolves “in action” with the movie, too!

Thank you Shannon for you kind comment. Looking up is so important. Blessed to be surrounded by an economy of dreamers and doers. It is what makes life so interesting.
