Want To Know Where to Start When Creating a Blog?

When creating a blog, sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start, but if you don’t begin then you are not starting. A blog is a simple thing to set up but if you want to own it and control it you need to host it yourself. My free Blogging Ingredients Masterclass can show you how this is done. But if you just want a quick nugget of information or some clarification, let me see if I can help.

This video is about where to start when creating a blog. It is simple and hopefully, you get some awesome value out of it.

Start with what you like to write about or enjoy doing. This will make it easier to update your blog on a more consistent basis.

Use Keyword Tools to find the keywords for your blog and maybe even the topic of your blog. Keywords lets you know what “words or phrase” people are searching for.

Keywords are also going to help you get better exposure for your blog and make it easier for the search engines to find out.

**Know your audience. This is crucial because if you don’t know who you are talking to you will have no traffic. You want to know if you are talking to the mom, dad, business owner, networker, and so forth. Make sure you picture that person in your mind and write your blog like you are having a conversation with them.

The more natural and honest you are in your blog the more people can relate and build that connection with you.

So know your topic and use keyword tools to help kick start some creative thinking!

Yes! You hit the number one point that I harp on with all my clients… You MUST control your own site. One comment, if I may… I’m not a big video person so it would be helpful to me and others like me to have a brief transcript of what’s in the video that we can read as well. Thanks!

Thanks Helena! I will go ahead and create a transcript that is a fantastic idea!

    • Thanks for the idea about key word tool, I hadn’t thought of using it. I agree with Estelle, you look very relaxed and at ease in the video. Thanks for the info!

Yes, using the Google Keyword Tool is an excellent start. Many folks fail to do this when they start a blog.
