It’s such a scam and yet even I at one point, was sucked into believing that social media was going to change how I did business.

According to the mass marketers out there, social media is suppose to:

  • Build Your Brand
  • Get You More Leads
  • Get You More Customers
  • Build Your Business

And yet the reality is that it does none of these things.

Powerfully Build Your Business With Social Media

Now this may sound like a contradiction to what I just said above unless you watch the video.

Social media is a tool.

I believe that needs to be repeated to you.

Social media is a TOOL.

It’s not something you own, or even control. You are a pawn in the whim of CEO’s design of their social media platform.

In the last 6 months Facebook has changed their internal algorithm at least twice. You can’t control that. All you can do is adjust.

IF you really want to know how to build your business with social media, you have to know your end game.

The End Game

This could differ by what you want to accomplish in your business.

  • Some clients want to build their fan base on social media
  • Some clients what to grow their email list
  • Some clients want more traffic to their site
  • Some clients want more customers
  • Some clients what more sales and repeat sales

Depending on your end game is how you approach your marketing strategy on social media.

I love social media from a marketing perspective. It’s brilliant and powerful. It’s basically having a conversation online that you want others to ease drop in on.

True Social Media Purpose:

Get them off of social media!

Ideally, you should be working hard to get them off social media and on the phone, to your store, or blog. That is where the real transaction occurs.

Use social media to find your customers level of interest. Develop a relationship with them.
