MLM Hot Topic: The No Money Objection
You hear it all the time, the no money objection… “I have no money.” “It’s too expensive.”
This tends to be the number one objection that most network marketers come across when they present their product or opportunity.
I know that it was the response I got when I first got started in the MLM industry.
I would turn to my upline and get this response… “Move on.”
I asked another distributor and they told me to go talk to rich people. Well, that made sense but where do you find them, and how do you approach them?
Then one day I picked up a course called Black Belt Recruiting… Highly recommend. This totally blew my perception about recruiting out the window! Now Recruiting is more fun than ever before… I basically recruit rejection free!
This is what I learned about the money objection. This video was shot in my car as I was driving to an appointment.
The Truth Behind the No Money Objection
Are you ready for the honest truth about this no money objection?
- No Value – Nobody likes to be sold. This makes them feel uncomfortable and turns them off. They will stop listening after the first 15 seconds if they think you are trying to sell them something.
- People want to buy – Give them a reason to buy or join your opportunity. Listen to their wants and needs and see if they would benefit. It has to add value to their life.
- Walk a way – We get so caught up in thinking that we should recruit everyone into our opportunity but sometimes we just need to walk away. I don’t waste my time trying to convince people of a good thing.
- Our job as a network marketer is to provide the information. After that it is up to them. If you have blended their “Why” with your opportunity you have a better chance of them joining you.
As a good friend of mine said, “I look for the people that want the opportunity, recruit them, and then show they how to duplicate this process.”
We all know people that would benefit from the financial side of a home base business but not everyone sees the opportunity. We can’t force people to open their eyes, all we can do is introduce them to a vision of the future.
You want to build a business… go out and talk…get the no’s and move forward. Sometimes people just want to see that you are committed.

I always issues with MLM but maybe I didn’t have the right tools/advice.
MLM is all about picking the right team that can help you succeed. Each of us has a different approach to business and working with someone that can help you find the way that is right for you is huge! Thank you for commenting and best of luck to you! 🙂
Great post!
Dealing with objections and negative feedback is probably the number one reason that people don’t do well in any endeavor and particularly MLM.
Not to mention that most MLM recruiting does not pre-screen the people as to their entrepreneurial abilities or traits in the first place.
No wonder 99% of all people who join an MLM lose money.
Your article here should help a lot of them succeed where they might of not done so well.
🙂

Totally agree Kathy! We just want to recruit everyone. But this industry is about finding people that know it is going to take some work and be willing to invest in themselves. It is not a get rich industry but a self development industry. We create leaders because it is work… then it becomes residual! 🙂
