How to Write an About Me Page for Blogs

About Me PageFor years I have been trying to figure out the best layout, form, outline, or idea for an “About Me Page” for my blog.

Being a Chef I do like a form or guideline that I need to follow and then I can tweak it from there. But this has not been successful for me and my about me page for my blog.

Nothing seemed to flow right, I didn’t know if I was getting too technical, if I needed resources, if I needed pictures, if I needed different fonts or colors.

I felt like I was guessing in the dark and not finding my true story. And that is when it hit me. I just need to tell my story.

Best Idea for an About Me Page

Share your story. Share why you are blogging. What made you go after the topic you are writing on. What are people going to learn by reading your blog.

Your story is the most powerful part of your blog. It’s not just about the content you are creating but about your reason for creating it.

It was after attending a conference that I finally figured this out. I kept telling everyone that the best thing you can do to reach people it to tell your story. Not everyone is going to want to hear it but find the ones that do. Look for the people that want something better in their life. That want the better health and financial freedom. Share stories from anyone and everyone. Don’t look for the perfect story, just share yours. It it powerful.

So the same goes for your blog, your about me page is what you want it to be. Share your story and include pictures if you can. Let people see that you are real and more than just a post on the web. I still need to work on this myself but I thought this was important enough to write about cause it is a mistake I have made myself.

So go out and share your story, your why behind your blog and what you hope to accomplish with your blog. Write from the heart and you can’t go wrong.

Share with you your suggestions for others on how to create an about me page for their blog below in the comment area. Let’s help each other grow.

I haven’t gotten this far yet! I feel like my blog has a mind of its own and doesn’t listen to me all the time. But I think I already know what my About Me page will be. I just have to carve out time to do it.
