How to set up a YouTube Channel
Did you know that 90% of web traffic is going to be video? Isn’t it time you took advantage of it and created your YouTube Channel?
Perfect example…someone was asking me how to do something and rather than try to explain it over the phone I did a quick screen capture video and shared that with them.
Many of us are visual learners. We see and then do. What better way to build your business that to use these same skill. Let’s teach through video and then do.
Now some of you may have a fear of getting in front of the camera but you can still do video. You can use the screen capture method and just chat as you describe what you are doing. I created a post that covers the different ways you can create video without being in the video.
Setting Up Your YouTube Channel
The first part of this video talks about how Google had integrated everything Google related. Now if you have a gmail account by default you also have a YouTube and Google+ account. Some people love this, like me, and others don’t. I will let you decided.
The plus about having your Google+ and YouTube accounted connected is that you create more Google exposure. After all Google loves any thing Google, so if you are willing to play in their world, it could benefit your business.
Once you have your account set up, make sure you fill out your Google+ profile. People want to know who they are doing business with.
Next, as you will see in this video, you want to create your YouTube Channel. Click on Channel and you will be walked through the steps to improve and personalize your channel.
One of the cool things about your Channel is the Header. Now this is not your typical header that you have seen on other social sites. This headers adjusts to the device it is being viewed on. So a larger image is required. Just so you keep that in mind.
Next you are going to move to video manager. Here you have access to set up some of your keywords, descriptions, and even preset your channel so that when you upload video from your computer or mobile device it has all the keywords and descriptions it needs. A quick and effective tool to use.
I make sure I cover this in the video so that you can see these changes. YouTube has really evolved in 2013 and I expect to see it get even better in 2014.
If you want to grow your business, I invite you to get comfortable with YouTube.

I have found that many people and home business owners are a little unsure about technology. 🙂 What do you use Video for in your business? Education? Leads? Sales?
