Ever wonder how to sell online and profit?

In the world of online marketing 2020 offer us the biggest jump in online and mobile sales in the history of selling on the internet. For the first time everyone had to get online for their job, schooling, shopping, groceries, finances, and so much more.

This opened the door for more people to sell online in a BIG way.

So how do you sell online? How do you put together the offer and get started? That is what we are going to dive into today. It’s all about you and showing you how simple it is to get started.

What is the number one questions I get asked… I don’t have anything to sell

Let’s blow that myth out of the water.

What to Sell Online

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure to work with many students and business owners. Together we have crafted their first offer and even went into the details of how to market their products or services.

I listened in on a challenge a few weeks back and Kevin Harrington said, the #1 thing to sell online is services. Services are in high demand and people pay for support and expertise.

Now you might be thinking… I don’t have any expertise… you and I know that is a total lie. You have tons of expertise or you wouldn’t be alive today. You’ve learned skill to get you where you are today… now it might be time to flip that and start making a few bucks… or more.

Think I am making this up…

Rob Kenney started in March 2020 with a simple YouTube channel called “Dad, How Do I”. Rob was raised without a dad and created this channel to talk about some of the things that he wished he could have asked his Dad to do or teach him.

Some of the basics of how to knot a tie, to changing a tire and more… Within the year he now has over 3.3 million subscribers and is now launching his own book. Does this inspire you?

Look at the skills you’ve learned over the years… what are some skill or training that you think is missing that you would like to create training around.

Heck… when I first got started blogging and going through all the courses I was annoyed that all the training was hours long and it was so hard to find what I needed if I had to go back through the course.

When I built my blog for the 5th time… I decided to record what I was doing and only make the training videos 5 minutes max. Focusing on one topic at a time instead of the whole thing. I sold this course to beginners because I was a beginner myself and could relate.

How To Sell Online

The how to sell online is broken down into 3 parts. I’m going to share with you those unique ingredients to this recipe.

1. Your Idea:

What do you want to teach? Who do you want to help and how are you going to help them? This could range from anything the enjoy doing to what do you want to do next…

  • Knitting
  • Facebook (organic, paid, groups, events, messenger bots, etc.)
  • Car repairs
  • Gardening (environment, location, landscaping)
  • Acrylic Pour Painting
  • Blogging
  • Pinterest (graphics, organic, automation, promoted pins [ads])
  • Doing laundry, housekeeping, vacuuming
  • Cooking, Baking

The list of ideas is endless and all it takes is a little brain dump. Take a moment and write down all the things you have learned, done, and want to to. This is a great place to start in creating your products or services to sell.

2. The Training:

The training can be delivered in a couple of ways. They can range from simple to complex.

  • E-book
  • Video course
  • Workshops (live or virtual)
  • Masterclass
  • Membership
  • Checklists
  • Templates (image design, email templates, content, etc)

The list is endless with what you can create and I even have a hint for you… did you know that you don’t even have to do all the work? Sounds crazy but it is true. There are some amazing tools like Fiverr that you can use to outsource a lot of the work.

3. The Sales Page

The one ingredient for selling online that stumps most of us. You have the product/service… now how do you collect the money and deliver the goods!

I know that when I was getting started this was one piece that I spent hours trying to learn. I attempted to be a web developer and figure this all out on my own. That was a bad idea. I hired this out and that was even a bigger mess.

I shouted to the sky… “why does this have to be so hard and complex”! Why can’t there be a simple solution to selling online! There has got to be an easier way… and there is. (I share my biggest secrets in my Snackable Digital Product Creation.)

The sales process follows this simple recipe

  • Sales page
  • Merchant Account (take credit card payment)
  • Email delivery and follow up
  • or shipping of goods

My word of warning for those wanting to sell online

…. Get your business entity set up! Protect yourself, your family, and your business. This is a non-negotiable ingredient for any business. If you want to be legit, get your business entity set up. I’m not a lawyer or financial person, so always consult your lawyer or tax accountant for the details in setting up the right business for you.
