How many of you started blogging and now you want to know how to monetize your blog?
I had an interesting conversation with my sister the other day about blogging. She asked me, “How do you make money with your blog?”
Her curiosity comes from movies she has seen where people start blogging and they don’t seem to be making any money. They are just writing stories…
One of my sisters examples was the movie, Julie & Julia. All Julie did was blog about her success, failure, emotional drama of cooking all the recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking
.
So this began the conversation of what we may not have seen in the movie of how Julie monetized her blog.

I glanced over at my sister and said, “What makes you think she didn’t monetize her blog? Didn’t it become a major motions picture?”
That stopped my sister in her tracks…
How do we know that Julie didn’t create links to products, produce, and utensils she was using?
What a lot of people miss is that you can monetize your blog without selling on your blog. I know it sounds weird but it is really simple to create a valuable blog and still make a few extra bucks.
All you have to do is create flow and valuable content, my suggestions:
- Write a review on a product or service
- Recommend products that you like
- Stay on topic

The Secret on How to Monetize Your Blog
As a network marketing you may have products or services that you use? So why not do a product review on who would benefit from your product?
How do we know that Julie didn’t have a link that went back to Amazon when people clicked on Mastering the Art of French Cooking?
What did this do for Julie? If people purchased this product after clicking on this link…. she made a small commission.
As a network marketer when people click on your links back to your products or services they become a lead for you. Someone you can call up and find out how you can be of service?
Isn’t this a more targeted lead? Isn’t this someone who WANTS the information that you have provided?
The Power of the Internet
Because of the internet it’s sooo much easier to drive traffic to the products or services that you want people to see. All you have to do is provide a link.
There are tons of affiliate programs right now online that you could join and recommend. Some of my favorite in no particular order:
- Aweber for email marketing

This is how simple it is to use affiliate links to monetize your blog.
Before the internet this wasn’t an option and that is why so much of the old school MLM way of doing business is becoming obsolete. People can use the internet to research, find the best product, price, and with a simple click have it delivered to their doorstep.
So if you want to increase your MLM business harness the power of a blog and create your own personality online. Right NOW people are looking to connect with you. And if they don’t find you… they will find your competition.

Hi! Thanks for sharing! I will add one more advice! Choose affiliate networks that cooperate with financially reliable clients who sell quality products and don’t cheat people. In order to choose the right program and stay safe, perform your own research, and verify information about the affiliate program that you are signing up for.

Hi Fred! Absolutely they will work for B2B sites. I see it all the time for real estate agents, banking, debt management, and more. Even when I owned my restaurant the one thing we focused on was getting our guests emails. It was how we continually market to them and invite them back to dine with us! 🙂
Use it to build relationships with other business owners. They will appreciate you for it.
I may eventually investigate ways to make money from my blog. Right now, it is writing practice, photography practice and a way to relax after my day job. When I retire, it may need to become a way to supplement my income, using my interests and passions as a starting point. It will be interesting to see what ends up happening.
