Blog Help: What Is a Blog?
And then the question to blog or not to blog.
Honestly blogging isn’t for everyone or even for every business. It is a tool be be used as part of your marketing.
So what is a blog?
I would like to say that there is a clear cut answer to this question but there is not.
What I can tell you is that it is not a website that you set up and forget about. Don’t just put out one or two pieces of content and believe your website is going to rake in the traffic.
From my experience a blog is an interactive conversation. The content on a blog is updated anywhere from once a month, to daily. The best blogs are those that are engaging and update their content daily.
Do you have a favorite blog you like to follow? What makes it unique and keep you coming back?
I have a couple that I like to hang out on. They offer great content and it feels like they are talking to me. I am going to recognize them below. Feel free to check them out or not.

So how do you get traffic to your blog?
One way is to engage on other blogs. Be active in the blogging community. Leave comments that are more than just, “great blog”. Also look to engage on blogs that offer black link to your blog for commenting on their blog. You may see this as comment luv on some blogs.
Also make sure you are writing content that people are looking for. One really cool tool to use is Keyword Tool. This lets you dig deep and find out what people are searching the web for. I recommend using this tool.
Blogging can be a lot of fun and a great way to make some extra money if you know how to create your blog the right way. One of the tools I put together for you was a course on blogging. It teaches you all the ingredients you need to set up a blog. Feel free to check it out at Blogging Ingredients.
