It’s official. I have fallen in love with marketing on Pinterest.
In this training video, I reveal some of the biggest secrets about Pinterest and why I believe it to be the best platform for bloggers and those building a business online.
It’s no joke, when I say that in 60 days, I got over 144 leads and profited over $8,000 in affiliate commission.
What was my strategy?
Promoted Pins On Pinterest
First off, my journey begins with me being an affiliate for an internet mentorship marketing company called, Elite Marketing Pro. This company teaches the strategy of internet marketing through the power of affiliate marketing.
And if you are wondering what affiliate marketing is:
“Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.”
You may recognize some of these top affiliate companies.
- Amazon
- Walmart
- GoDaddy
- JustHost
- ClickBank
And many more. Depending on your niche, you can find 5-10 good affiliate companies to promote.
I went with Elite Marketing Pro because of the amazing training, coaching, and mentorship. If you plug into this system, you will learn how to market ANY business and make money while you learn.
So with that said, here’s what happened.
June 2016 Pinterest Ads
My first course of action was to test the Elite Marketing Pro blog.
I wanted to see if I could create a pin that would attract attention and get pinners to click on my affiliate link associated with the blog post I wanted them to read.
Some of the benefits of promoting the Elite Marketing Pro blog.
- Amazing content already written for you
- Multiple call to actions around and at the end of the blog post
- Elite Marketing Pro takes care of email follow up
So all I was responsible for, was the traffic from Pinterest to that blog post.
Click here to see the Elite Marketing Blog post I was sending traffic to. As you will see, there are over 1.4k pins to this blog post. Almost all that traffic was from me.
In the month of June I generated
Leads: 82
Commission: $2,000
Residual Commission: $1,549.38
Ad Spend for this post was $136.48 for the month.
Cost Per Lead: $1.66
Not too shabby.
My only note to add is this. I was running a similar ad to my blog… and noticing that my conversion for sales was a bit higher. Which had me test out July Pinterest Ads, strictly to my site.
Test July 2016 Pinterest Ad
With the express permission of Ferny Ceballos, COO of Elite Marketing Pro and author of the blog post that I wanted to use, I created a guest blogger post on my blog.
I ran all July Pinterest Traffic to this blog post on my blog.
Now what is interesting to note, is that I kept the image the same. It seemed to work for the Elite Marketing Pro blog for leads. Now it was time to see if the same image would drive traffic to my blog.
What were the results?
Leads: 62
Commissions: $3,981.75
Residual Commissions: $668.64
Ad Spend: $260.38
Cost Per Lead is roughly $4.20
Note that I did increase my ad budget from $5 in June to $10 in July.
Also as of August 2nd I increased my ad budget for this ad from $10 to $20. If what has happened over the last 2 months stays on track, August residual income should double.
Biggest Pinterest Secret
So my biggest Pinterest secret I can reveal is that it pays to play on Pinterest. With over 41% of e-commerce being driven because of Pinterest. This is a profitable place to market if you know what you are doing.
I have had some trial and errors on this platform.
I’ve had pins denied because of verbiage, image, and where the url takes people. With Pinterest, there has to be truth in advertising. If you see an image, the expectation is that the web link should take you right to that image, content, or product.
Failure to do this will result in your account be terminated. Which happened to me also.
Luckily, I had some safe guard’s in place that allowed me to contest why they closed my account. Within 2 weeks I got my account reinstated and was back to testing promoted pins.
Pinterest is a completely different platform that any social media site out there. But once you crack the code, there is money and fans to be gained over here.
Which is why I launched my Pinning Ingredient course. I wanted to make the ability to profit from Pinterest available to everyone. Inside this course, you will get the in-depth training I did with my coaching client. You will see how to create Pins for profit.
I will show you a strategy that no one is teaching and a simple way to create automation that builds your brand.
Plus we go through the process of a Pinterest funnel so that every pin has the potential to make you money whether you promote it or not. This is going to blow your mind.
Right now it the perfect time to get on this platform. With over $11 billion in revenue being generated oPinterestst… shouldn’t your business be on Pinterest?

Hi Katrina!
Love the post, it’s very inspirational seeing your success.
A quick question, what worked best for you/what did you choose as you ad goal, Traffic or engagement?
Best wishes
Alexander
Hey Alexander, I have discovered that it is good to use a blend of both. An awareness campaign is similar to a FB promoted page campaign. So great for building your following. Next I head right into traffic. I want people to hit my site and see my content. There is always a CTA and that is where I get my leads and sales from. Loving Pinterest as a traffic platform. Very powerful.
