This weekend Orlando morns the lives lost during the horrible shooting of June 12th.

Since Thursday there have been vigils all over Central Florida.

The love and compassion that is being displayed far out weights any of the negativity.

I have lived here in the Orlando area for 15 years now. This is my community and my people.

While I lost no one close to me, many of my friends and co-workers were affected. The loss is deep.

I have watched many good deeds take place this week and it makes my heart swell for this amazing city.

We are one pulse…

What’s Really Important?

Last night I attended a vigil at Magic Kingdom. This was not a Disney sponsored event… It was a group of cast members uniting to remember their family and friends.

Over 2000 Disney employees, family, and friends gathered in front of the castle for the ‘Goodnight Kiss’.

The ‘Goodnight Kiss’ is a special event that happens at Magic Kingdom about 30 minutes after the park closes. It’s the final farewell to guest, sharing a quote form Walt Disney.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, on behalf of everyone here at the Magic Kingdom, we thank you for joining us today for a magic gathering of family, friends, fun, and fantasy. We hope your magical journey with us has created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Walt Disney said that the Magic Kingdom is a world of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In this timeless land of enchantment, magic and make believe are reborn, and fairy tales come true. The Magic Kingdom is a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place where when you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true. Until we see you again, have a safe trip home. Thank you, and goodnight.”

I could think of no better place to be than in a world where imagination, hopes, and dreams still exists. These are tough time for our Orlando community.

We have rallied around #OrlandoUnited #OrlandoStrong #PrayforOrlando #PulseofOrlando

Here’s the ‘Goodnight Kiss’ and the moment of silence that impacted us all.

The End of The Day

At the end of the day… we are one pulse.

I invite you to listen to my newest favorite song by Melissa Etheridge:

Final Thoughts…

We all believe that we are good people. We all believe that what we do is right. We don’t always agree on “right” and that is the conflict that we face daily.

Be strong in your stand and be compassion for those in your life.

Thank you for taking time today to read this. I truly appreciate you. If you have any thoughts you would like to share, please comment below.

Yours in Gratitude,

One thing I learned (the hard way) in high school is, if you want to complement someone and give them warm fuzzies, don’t delay.

You never know what the next day will bring.

If you value someone, and you’re thinking about how great a person or an example they are, tell them. Today.

Agree. Recognize people today and never forget to tell them I love you.

    • Hi Katrina, I am just catching up on my email and am seeing your post now. I am so glad you are safe. I was sickened by another massacre in Orlando. My heart breaks for those young lives lost and their families and friends. I can only imagine the sadness of the entire Orlando community and the healing that will take months and years. Please know that we are all with you. Take care, Joan

Thank you Joan. Appreciate your kind words. There is a lot of healing taking place in our community.
