Why Blogging Must Have a Purpose

Do you enjoy blogging? Are you making money doing it? If not, why not?

When building your blog it is important to have a purpose. It is not for your benefit but for the benefit of your fans. They want to know what they will find when they come back to your blog.

I put together this video explaining the first rule of blogging with purpose.

Blogging with Purpose:

There are different ingredients to a blog but one of the most important is the purpose of your blog.

The first thing you want to create is “Like”. What is “Like”? Like is a couple of things.

  • Affinity – You are just like Them. Relate to your fans and readers. Let them know your ups, downs, successes, and challenges.
  • Represent our outcome – let us know that if we follow you we could have the same success, ranking, money, support, or whatever your purpose is with your blog.
  • FUN!!! – no one likes reading a boring blog! Have fun, engage, share a story, and just be yourself.

Blogging is all about creating a place for people to go to learn and be entertained. Learn to confide in your fans, make the information about them.

Having a purpose for you blog will allow you to be more consistent with you blog. You know the reason you are blogging.

So how often do you blog? The experts will say 1-2 times a week. If you are serious about getting your blog off the ground I am going to say 5-7 times a week.

Part of the reason for this, is because you want to stay in front of your fans and readers. Out of sight out of mind is not far from the truth. This is another reason I stress blogging with purpose.

There is another key component to blogging with purpose. This is crucial for building your following with your blog.

Totally agree with you Meire, I love informative and educational content. I recently learned that laughter helps drill in training better then just dry training. Made me step back and think. Thank you so much for your comment and look forward to you blog!

I liken it to writing what you’re passionate about — whether it’s your personal blog or your business one. Passion creates excitement and invites intimacy … which pulls the reader in and asks them to be part of the crowd.

It’s far too easy to get caught up in the technical and forget about that passion, I think. Great reminder!
