Blog Help: Posting with Purpose
Do you feel like you’re spinning your wheels and not going anywhere with your blog? Are you posting with purpose?
What is your goal with your blog? Is it to share your passion? Make some money? Build a list? Build your business?
Every day I work with new clients that are struggling with their blog. It started out with good intentions but they aren’t making any money. They don’t have any traffic. They are ready to throw in the towel and call it quits.
What they don’t realize is that they are on the right path but just need some help to find their purpose.
Blogging is easy… figuring out why we are blogging and our purpose requires some planning. And for some reason people reject planning! (head shake)
Posting with purpose is all about using the right tools and creating onsite and off site SEO for your post.
As a blogger it is our job to get in front of our audience when they search for us. And YES! people are searching for your content, voice, product, opportunity, and business every single day. People are looking to join and connect with people.
So have a purpose when you begin blogging. Research keywords and discover what people are searching for. Learn to use both short and long tail keywords to get in front of your blogging fans.
Recently I learned a concept called mind mapping. This is the process of writing out your idea and connect your ultimate goal. It looks something like this.
For the visual client this is great. It allows them to think… build and even set future goals for their blog. I love this approach to creating a blog. Using the right tools and SEO this mind map can help create content for your blog for days, week, and even months. So don’t over look this simple tool.
Having a blog is a powerful tool for your business. By blogging you are ranking in the search engines and businesses with a blog are seeing a 54% increase in traffic and a 74% increase in leads. That is the power of blogging.

The mind mapping something new to me but I am finding it extremely useful. When I get stuck I can refer back to it to help keep me on track. It is something Tony Robbins and other coaches teach.
