blab image logoHave you heard the news about Blab.

Heard it for the first time last month. It’s still in beta form and has been around about 2 months at the time of this post.

The first time I heard about it I was talking with a friend at a networking event. He mentioned it to me and when I tried to add the app to my droid… no luck.

It seemed to only be an iPhone app. Sad day for me.

But as the universe would have it, Blab kept popping up again and again on my radar. A few techies in my circle we constantly asking what is was and if I had used it yet.

Well, being the social media geek that I am, I had to try it out. But again, my frustration was that it was only an iPhone app… and I am a die hard droid user.

So, standing next to my car, heading into my shared office space at Scribble Space, I did a search on google. Lo and behold… Blab.im showed up!

The kicker…. it’s not an app on droid phones… it is a web site that can only be access through the Google Chrome Browser. At the time of this posting this is true, but because it’s still in beta I am sure this will change over the next couple of months.

And like all good marketers… we jump in and destroy a perfectly good idea right off the bat. But here is what I want you to be aware of…

Blab is not a marketing site, it’s not a monolog, and it’s not a TV show (yet). When doing my research I actually love the concept of Blab and how it got started. You can read all about it here on How Blab Got Started.

So the question came up in one of my networking groups. How do you use Blab to build a business locally? Is it even possible?

Check out this video on how to use Blab for building your business.

Blab for Business

As I mentioned in this video, blab really does have a sweet spot and those that will succeed on blab are those that recognize the potential and exposure for building authority.

This week I am actually taking part in a test to see how we can use blab to gain local exposure. For the most part blab is open, meaning you can have people from all over the world jump in and listen in on your blab.

I will keep you posted on our results and how we are using blab to grow our local business exposure.

As for how to use blab for your business… here are some ideas I had while chatting with fellow blabbers. (not sure that is even a word yet! )

Blab For Your Business

Some of the uses I can see for blab….

  1. Savvy Organizer – Tips and Products that we can use to help stay organized in our lives. Beyond the physical, how can we use technology to stay organized also.
  2. Real Estate – Interview and chat with other real estate agents in your area. Talk about upcoming developments, what’s new in the area, and some of the houses on the market
  3. Physical Trainers – Product and exercise recommendations. Talk about eating habits, do lots of Q&A with your audience. Bring on success stories and interview them. (you can record the interview)
  4. Chefs – Talk about cooking. What’s new, what’s trending, what’s happening in your area.
  5. Network Marketers – Have an open chat about your company, products, opportunity… maybe even interview others in your company for stories. (make sure you abide by your company rules for marketing)
  6. Affiliate Marketers – What are you promoting and why?

Honestly I can spin this about 1,000 different ways to grow your business. This is what I specialize in. Working with future 6-figure earners that want to leverage the internet and their time to create success in their business. By no means is this about getting rich quick, but about laying the foundation for lifetime success.

I am excited about using this blab platform and I see a lot of potential especially as the presidential debate become more of an issue next year.

As for using it to market my business… I see it as a way to teach and train the power of blogging and creating the ultimate sales funnel for your business.

As a network marketer, I can see it being used to introduce people to the product or opportunity. Get a few friends chatting about it and let those that listen in have a chance to comment or find out more.
