Affiliate Marketing vs Network Marketing

Affiliate Marketing vs Network MarketingSo what is the difference between Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing? Inquiring minds want to know.

Fantastic question and one that I think needs some explaining.

First off both of them will make you money… the real question is how much? You many make zero in both of them or you may make $100,000 in both of them.

Knowing the difference is step 1, learning how to apply them to your business is step 2.

They have very different approaches when you share them and when you talk with people.

So let look at Affiliate Marketing

With affiliate marketing it is all about the product or service. Affiliate marketing has been around for years and tons of major companies us it to help create person to person marketing.

Or as we call it, referral marketing. 🙂

If you like and use a product, aren’t you more then likely to use it and tell others about it also? If you do, isn’t it nice to get paid for it?

What if every time you saw a movie and shared it on Facebook you got paid for recommending it? This is affiliate marketing in action.

Some of the big players that use affiliate marketing:

  • Ebay
  • Amazon
  • Web Hosting
  • Webinar Platforms

The list can go on forever. Heck, just check out sites like ClickBank.com and JVZoo.com, both specialize in affiliate products for you to sell and get a commission on. Commission varies by product. It can be 10% -100% or a flat fee.

I use affiliate marketing to help build my MLM. I use a lead generation system that pays me whether people join me in my opportunity or not. It’s rejection free marketing. 98% say no to my opportunity but yes to training for their business.

It is a win win situation. I create this video for you to watch to bet a better idea of how this works.

Network Marketing Reality

For many network marketing has gotten a bad rap. It is because of the false hope and promises. We all see a compensation plan, think of 3 people we can get to join, and then go and solicit them.

In the back of our mind we think of them as the go getter… the one that will make this business take off… all you have to do is show them the business opportunity, get them to sign up and then you can sit back and reap the rewards.

Sound familiar?

It is something we all go through. Heck, even I did this… I thought I would just bring people in, they would sky rocket and I didn’t have to do any more than that.

Boy was I WRONG!

Network Marketing is hard work. You have to hustle, talk to people, answer the phone, make phone calls, create appointments, and basically work your butt off. And there is no guarantee that you will make a single cent.

Yet it is still based on a residual market. Bring in others, help them sell product… make a percentage off the products they sell. And this continues down the line for how ever long it goes with your company. Building teams and systems is key.

Guys and Gals… this is your wake up call. If you want to create a 6-figure income this year. You are going to have to work hard, keep odd hours, and be ready for anything.

But I will share this will you. I have found that combining the effort of affiliate marketing with network marketing creates wealth A LOT faster.

Using a system like Magnetic Sponsoring, where you learn how to attract leads into your opportunity. If they say no… great you still made money. Yes you heard me right. You can still make money when people say NO to your opportunity. Would that be valuable to you?

So remember this… Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing may look different but at the end of the day if used correctly… both can make you a boat load of money. 🙂 Are you down with that?

I have enjoyed reading the article explaining the difference between mlm and am. I have used it several times with my team so thanks for that. I’m sure you get approached all the time about opportunities. I thought it
would only be fair to offer to send you what I am involved with since. I’ve been using your experience in am to help better lead my team.

After several years of working with in the MLM industry I had made the switch to Affiliate Marketing. I prefer a more product driven direct sales approach. I sell everything from house hold items and sports equipment to services like Blog training and list building tools.

That said..once the proper “niche” is found, building a sales team with in an MLM model is still a very productive way to earn a residual income….over and over again.

For those wondering if one or the other or both are right for them, I would suggest getting with an experienced business owner like Katrina first! Find your passion and niche then lay out the business plan and save yourself a lot of #1) Money and #2) Headaches as you build your dream company! – Happy Selling!

I do like a blend of both Jeff. I have found that when I front end the training of affiliate marketing, I can back end leaders into my opportunity. It is an amazing blend of both worlds. 🙂
