blog commentsAs a blogger we want to engage with our fans and one way we do this is through our blog comments.

Today I read an article from one of my blogging mentors Ty Tribble, inside What’s Working Now, he talked about blog comments and I am going to share some  of what I just learned from him. Dude is brilliant and a lot of what I have learned about creating a marketing blog, I have learned from him.

This months article talked about blog comments. We all want them but do we want them too much? Are they helping or hurting our blog?

Today I am going to share with you the simple “ARLD” formula for maximizing rapport building, lead generation, and sales potential.

4 Little Known Laws of Blog Comments

As you can see in the video, there are some little known laws about blog comments.

Make sure you are doing what you can to protect the integrity of your blog. Remember it’s your home and only invite people in that are adding value to your blog.

So what is the “ARLD” formula?

  1. Always moderate you blog comments daily
  2. Respond to all comments
  3. Learn to recognize spam comments
  4. Don’t allow comments that question your brand

This simple formula can help you protect your blog and still keep engagement.

In the video we did take about spam plugins that can help you avoid tons of spam on your blog. Do you have a favorite plugin beside Akismet? Please share in the comment section below.

I can relate well to this post. I use WordPress as well, and the spam is unreal. I have not got a spam filter yet, but will be now because it’s really out of control with spam comments. I enjoy reading, commenting, and sharing others blogs, so I know what to look for when someone is wanting the backlink vs the true comment of appreciation. Thanks Chef! Great video too by the way, I watched the whole thing and got a lot of value!

Hi Jaye! Yea my spam exploded when I started writing daily… then it became a pain. So anyway to minimize it is good. All that spam is not good for our credibility!
