First off.. as a blogger I am going to totally admit… I have made these mistakes.
And because I have made these mistakes I figured I could share how to avoid them also.
These mistakes that bloggers make are common for beginner and even experienced bloggers. We made these mistake because we don’t know.
The fact that you are reading this is testimonial to the fact that you want to avoid making mistakes with your own blog and I love that about you! Means you want to avoid the pain that I went through.
So down to business…
3 Mistakes That Bloggers Make
- Fail to Create Content Regularly
- Fail to Respond to Comments – engage your readers
- Fail to Socialize Your Content
Of course I am going to go into more detail about these 3 mistakes that bloggers make in this video.
As you learned inside this video I made plenty of mistakes in my blogging career.
I have created and destroyed over 4 different blogs in my blogging career. Currently this is my only surviving blog that I regularly engage on.
It’s true, my first blog was about health… and shockingly I hate writing about health. Being a Chef makes me knowledable but there are better people out there that can write about health and fitness. I just cook the food!
My second blog had to do with metabolic syndrome, a topic that I was writing about because my MLM came out with a product to address this issue. This blog was bound to fail because of what I just said above.
Next up a mentoring blog… this was a blend of financial training and marketing…. I am no financial guru and I really didn’t want to take on the legal responsibility of pretending I had any idea about finances besides what I was reading in a book. This one died quickly!
My fourth blog… my creative side, writing and sharing recipes via video blogging. Great idea… wrong targeted audience. You can’t recruit people that are already in your network marketing opportunity. This was definitely not growing my downline!
Which leads me to this blog… yup, I finally figured out what I wanted to blog about and how I wanted to help others.
I realized that there are many network marketers out there that are looking for training and a better way to build their business.
I enjoy learning and passing that knowledge on to empower others to have success. Heck, I get excited when my clients achieve success with their blog, business, or marketing efforts. I love to celebrate you!
How to stand out with your blog…
Be engaging.
You can avoid many mistakes that bloggers make by waking up and saying…
“Today, someone is searching for help and I have the solution for them.”
If you focus more on helping others solve their problems… they will continually come back and read your blog.
Does this make sense?
So as I asked in the video… what questions do you have? What do you want to know about online marketing, blogging, and anything else I can help with?
Ask your question in the comment section below.
Yours in Gratitude,
Chef Katrina van Oudheusden

What really stood out to me is in your video you mentioned SEO and engagement. I have been personally shooting for as much engagement as I can, and some posts I do focus on SEO side of, not all of them, but try to rank a few of my posts for extra traffic. Also I do know that consistent blogging works very well, and until I tried to do it, is when I realized how tough it can be to do it everyday. Thanks for a great post!
I agree Jaye… It isn’t easy to always blog. But I just look to the questions I am asked. The books I read and the webinars I attend. But at the end of the day, if there is zero engagement… look at who you are targeting with your blog. That became a critical piece for me to examine also.
Thank you again for your amazing comments and sharing what you are doing with your blog. Really appreciate it!
